Who this service is for

This service is designed for micro businesses trading through a limited company that are not registered for VAT – for example freelancers, contractors, consultants, tradespeople, creatives and small online sellers.

If your turnover for the year was under £5,000, our £99 small-turnover accounts are a better fit. If your company didn’t trade at all, choose dormant company accounts for £69. VAT registered? Ask us for a quote.

How it works

  1. Get in touch and tell us about your company. We confirm the fixed price.
  2. Send your records – bank statements, sales invoices and receipts for the year. A spreadsheet or bookkeeping app export is fine.
  3. We prepare your accounts and go through them with you in plain English.
  4. You approve, we file with Companies House and HMRC.

What we’ll need from you

  • Your company name and registration number
  • Business bank statements covering the whole financial year
  • Sales invoices and records of any other income
  • Receipts or records of business expenses
  • Last year’s accounts, if this isn’t your first year

When are limited company accounts due?

A private limited company must file its annual accounts with Companies House 9 months after the end of its financial year. A company’s first accounts are due 21 months after it was registered. Separately, the Company Tax Return is due 12 months after the end of the accounting period, and Corporation Tax is normally payable 9 months and 1 day after it ends.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between annual accounts and a tax return?

Annual accounts (also called statutory accounts) are a summary of your company’s finances for the year and are filed with Companies House. The Company Tax Return (form CT600) is filed with HMRC and works out how much Corporation Tax your company owes. Most trading limited companies need both.

Can I file my limited company accounts myself?

Yes, directors can prepare and file their own accounts. But mistakes can lead to penalties, missed allowances or paying more tax than you need to. For £199, we make sure it’s done correctly and that you claim everything you’re entitled to.

Do I need to be in Ipswich to work with you?

No. We work online with limited companies anywhere in the UK.

What if my company is VAT registered?

Our £199 price is for non-VAT-registered companies. If you’re VAT registered, get in touch and we’ll give you a fixed quote.
